Department of Technology
The diverse curriculum offered by the Walla Walla University Department of Technology will teach you to effectively utilize the most current knowledge and skills necessary to perform at the top of the technical field of your choice. You will focus on a specific area of interest while receiving a broad overview in other areas of technology and general studies. In every area of study, real-world and hands-on experience is highly emphasized. Each field of study offers work opportunities within the department to help you hone the skills needed to excel in a competitive work environment.
Automotive
You will learn what makes automobiles and their systems work, how and why they fail, and how to use tools and equipment to diagnose and repair the defects quickly and effectively.
Automotive Service major (Bachelor of Science)
Students who get a B.S. in automotive service will develop the ability to diagnose the source of vehicular issues quickly and accurately. An automotive technician generally works with, repairs, and tests cars for automobile manufacturers, car dealerships, bus lines, or in garage or service stations. Prior to graduation, students must pass their A1-A8 exams.
Automotive Management major (Bachelor of Science)
The automotive management major is a joint program with the School of Business. Students who get a B.S. in automotive management also learn to successfully manage the business and financial aspects of the enterprise as well as the diagnostic and repair skills of a technician. They must pass the A1-A8 exams prior to graduation.
Automotive Technology specialization (Associate of Science)
This degree has been designed to be completed in three years and is intended for students who are already pursuing a bachelor’s degree in another field.
Aviation
You'll learn how aircrafts fly, how to operate them safely, and how to interact in the world of professional aviation. During training you will be at the controls and learning first hand the challenges and rewards of operating aircraft.

Product Design
This major focuses on the design of user-friendly products and systems. Through an insight-driven design process, students develop meaningful and innovative products. Students work in a studio environment where collaboration and critical thinking are encouraged.
Product Design major (Bachelor of Science)
Students who get a B.S. develop concepts for manufactured products, such as furniture, home appliances, and medical devices. They understand branding and marketing principles, so they are prepared for the design workforce as employees, consultants, or entrepreneurs.
Product Design specialization (Associate of Science)
Students who get an A.S. in product design will complete two years of courses in: sketching, computer-aided design (CAD), industrial materials and processes, and manufacturing methods.
